About Aut 2 Be Kids

We are so happy to have you visit our blog!  We, the parents, have amazing children with Autism, who are all a part of the Aut 2 Be Kids Club.  Please allow us to tell you a little about the Club.

Aut 2 Be Kids is a club designed for children/youth ages 3 to 21 years of age that live with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other disabilities.   We try to invite selected peer models to help provide understanding and friendships through community awareness.

Our Mission:
Is to create sensory friendly recreation activities, social experience, summer camp, and family events so that children/youth with ASD can laugh and make friends in an environment that understands their unique needs.

Bedford County Association for Exceptional Students, Inc 501c3 is the funding agent for all of Aut 2 Be Kids Programs. BCAES' goal is to provide Aut 2 Be Kids members every chance to lead a productive social life at no charge to the families who participate.

Sponsored Activities:
Aut 2 Be Kids Club meetings
  Camp Friends-Summer Camp
  Adventure Fridays
  Family Fun Swim Nights
  Adaptive Recreation

The Club meetings are every other month, and are about two hours long. While the children are having their fun (with trusted supervision), the parents are in the next room for their "Parents ACT" meeting.  **See the Parents ACT blog for more information.

We invite anyone who is in or around the Bedford County area to come and see what we are all about.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email Leta Frame at parentsact@gmail.com, or Mary Fults at fults.mary@gmail.com
